Long pants are recommended, closed-toed shoes like hiking boots or sneakers are best. Bring sunglasses. You can carry a small backpack to keep your personal items in. In the winter, it will be cold and snowy. Wear layers with a warm jacket and a hat as well as snow boots to stay comfortable
Yes! All guests will be required to sign a standard Liability Waiver upon check-in.
The Zip Line Base is at 6492 Highway 91, Leadville, Co. 80461. The Historic Train Depot is located at 326 E. 7th Street, Leadville, Colorado 80461. It’s only 12 minutes from the Zip Line Base to the Train Station and vice versa.
We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all tours.
Zip line/train ride combo tours start with the zip line at 9:00 am, and the train ride will begin at 2:00 pm. *Note, it is best to get to both tours 30 minutes early to allow time for check-in.
The time frame for the winter snowmobile and zip line combo is 9 am, 12 pm, and 3 pm. For this combo tour, you will pick two tour times (e.g., zip line at 9 am and snowmobile at 12 pm).
- All 6 of our zip lines have double overhead cables for extra safety so that you are attached to two cables at once
- We use up-to-date regulation harnesses to ensure you are securely strapped in and comfortable
- Our zip lines use automatic braking systems to ensure you have a comfortable experience
- Our Zip Line is registered with the State of Colorado and inspected yearly according to the highest standards.
- At least two guides will accompany all tours.
Easy to access take-off and landing decks are flat on the side of the mountain; you don’t have to climb ladders up into trees or wooden towers. There is one tower on the course, but guests are only required to walk down it.
Zip line sections are connected by scenic downhill trails through the forest, so it’s easy walking.
Minimum weight is 60 pounds, and the maximum weight is 260 pounds.
There are no age restrictions on the zip line, only weight guidelines with a minimum weight of 60 pounds and a maximum weight of 260 pounds. The minimum age for snowmobiling on the Prospector Tour is 6 years old.
Pregnant women are not allowed to zip line.
No alcohol is allowed on the tour, and you are not to be intoxicated during your zip line ride.
Guide gratuities are appropriate and appreciated. For a group of 6 or more, a 15% auto gratuity will be charged at the time of check-in.
Yes! During the summer months, the Top of the Rockies zip line soars over the Leadville Railroad train tracks, allowing you to zip line over a moving train. It is a one-of-a-kind experience. Top of the Rockies also offers The Rails & Zip Line Combo Tour that lets you experience the zip line and ride the train.
Top of the Rockies Zip Line provides year-round zip line tours in Colorado, including wintertime. This allows you to experience zip lining on the Continental Divide high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Be prepared to dress warmly! Ski gear is a common outfit for people joining during the wintertime.
