After check-in at the Base Camp at our 2,500 acre Private Preserve, board our 6 ton MONSTER TRUCK or drive a Polaris ATV up through the forest to the first zip line departure platform at 11,200 feet. Shuttle vehicle will depend upon number of guests booked for the tour time. Enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive, two of the tallest peaks in North America from the deck of our Yurt. See some of the old historic patented gold mines on the property as well as possible wildlife. Fly side by side experiencing different elements of speed, distance off the ground, and terrain on each of the FIVE SEPARATE ZIP LINE SECTIONS. Stop at one of the bubbling streams in the area for cold drinks and snacks. A shuttle vehicle will return you to Base Camp at the end of your tour. Photo Service is available on site.

The Two Hour ZIP LINE TOUR Plus LUNCH: It’s a Winner!
darrellCheck in at 11:30 for this 12:00 tour. Meet your guides and board the 6 ton Monster Truck or one of our Polaris ATVs, depending upon the number of guests who are scheduled. Enjoy the climb up almost 1,000 vertical feet from Base on winding trails through the Forest to some of the higher elevations on the Continental Divide. Guides will point out old mining ruins, close-up views of some of the highest mountains in Colorado including Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive, and possible views of the resident elk herd. Perhaps you will see passengers departing from their ride on the Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad on our property by the water tower. After a delicious box lunch from a local restaurant, guests will leave the Yurt to get their equipment and go through a brief flight training school. Accompanied by two Zip Line Guides, it’s time to step off the first platform in the cool mountain air, and JUST GO FOR IT. Fly side by side, race your families and friends off the sturdy decks. All lines have double cables for safety; this is HANDS FREE FLYING at its best. Our brakes are called ZBrakes; they slow you down for the landing where guides will be waiting to assist. The brief walks between the sections are all downhill. Our Zip Line is registered with the State of Colorado. At the end of the tour, guests will return to Base Camp in a Shuttle. All lines are between 10,000′ and 11,500′ of altitude. It’s always cool and comfortable in our high back-country area.

The Four Hour RAILS AND ZIP LINE TOUR: The Ultimate!
Two-Over-TrainCheck in at the Base Camp then receive your voucher to ride on the LEADVILLE COLORADO & SOUTHERN RAILROAD. Leave your car in our parking lot then it’s all aboard our shuttle to the Railroad Station in Leadville where you’ll meet the engineer and train crew for a journey back in history. Join visitors and locals as the train climbs 1,000 feet above the valley floor, traveling through untouched wilderness areas with some of the most spectacular views in the Rocky Mountains, including possible views of zip liners gliding overhead. When you reach our Private Preserve high on the Continental Divide, the train will stop at about 11,000’ of altitude. Guides will be waiting to escort guests from the train to our cozy high mountain yurt where a hearty box lunch prepared by Cookies With Altitude will be served. After flight school and a training zip line, guests will step off the first platform at 11,500’ to soar like eagles over vast canyons, high alpine meadows and bubbling brooks on five separate zip line areas. Two professional zip line guides will accompany flyers during the tour, providing friendly help and assistance in all aspects of the experience. See where miners toiled to find gold in more than 40 historic gold mining claims on the property. At the end of the tour, guests return to base camp and their vehicles. Tour Time: Check in at the Base Camp by 9:00am. Receive your voucher to exchange for a Railroad Ticket at the Depot in Leadville. We will provide complimentary transportation from our Base to the Depot at 9:30am, arriving no later than 9:45am for your 10:00am departure. Plan to be finished with the tour at approximately 2:30pm.

Additional Details

Bookings will be made by securing time and space with a credit card number to hold. Payment will be made at check-in time. We have a 24 hour cancellation policy for standard tours. For the Luncheon Tours, a strict 48 hour cancellation policy applies. All guests will be required to sign a standard Liability Waiver. Gratuities are requested and appreciated for guides.

Child Rates apply to children ages 7 – 12.

Weight Restrictions apply. No one under 60 pounds (27 kg) and no one over 260 pounds (118 kg) can zip line.

Long pants are recommended, closed toed shoes like hiking boots or sneakers are best. Bring sunglasses. You can carry a small back pack for bottled water or a cell phone.

Complimentary Raincoats are provided at the Base Camp. We do not cancel in the event of light showers but we reserve the right to cancel tours because of extreme weather. In that event, no charge will be made.

We are located off the National Top of the Rockies Scenic Byway, Highway 91 South, only 15 minutes south of Copper Mountain at Exit 195 on Interstate 70.
